Comparison of Oaths

We have all taken oaths in our lives.  We have verbally expressed an oath and accepted implied or silently agreed upon oaths.  Society, culture and government run on oaths taken by people of all walks of life.  Following are 3 oaths; 1- by an elected official; 2-by a volunteered public servant; and 3- by people in a private organization.  Read them and the comments which follow.

1-      This is an Oath of Office taken by a Maricopa County Supervisor, this happens to be Mary Rose Wilcox’s Oath of Office from 2004.

I, Mary Rose Wilcox, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the State of Arizona; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and defend them against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of the office of Supervisor, District 5 according to the best of my ablility, so help me God (or so I do affirm).

2-      The U.S. Armed Forces Oath (Oath of Enlistment)

I, Name, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform code of Military justice. So help me God.

3-      The oath of a “Family” of gangsters, a private organization.

1-

1-Protect all of the Family business.

2-      2-Never lie to a Family Member.

3-      3-Never steal from you bosses.

4-      4-Let no one lie or tell a story about an associate so they can move up in rank.

5-      5-Never discuss Family business with an outsider or outside of a specified meeting.

6-      6-Never kill anyone from law enforcement.

7-      7-Never defend yourself in court, use a lawyer.

8-      8-Never “Rat Out”  on a Family Member.

9-      9-Support and take care of your immediate personal family.  Never discuss the Family business with them.

1   10- Do not get egotistical (a big head) about yourself.  Buy and drive normal everyday cars like Chevys, Fords, etc..   Avoid flashy cars like Mercedes Benz.

The strength of an oath is only in the severity of the enforcement.  In the 2nd & 3rd oath the enforcement is usually swift and severe possibly unto death.  So the people who take these oaths are more prudent to keep them.  All enforcement of any oath comes from a higher echelon or somebody who is in charge.

When elected officials use their office to gain personal wealth and power they need to be removed.  When elected officials use their influence of office and political power underhandedly against a citizen of the United States who is bringing honest questions and correct legal actions against that official the official should be removed

immediately, by recall if necessary.

The citizens of Maricopa County District 5 should have ousted Rep. Mary Rose Wilcox years ago, but again a corrupt people elect corrupt representatives and keep them in office.
